BALTIC 39 is home to 32 studios, of which Newcastle City Council provide 25 quality, affordable, non-residential workspaces. These studios help support practitioners within the contemporary art and creative industries to grow, develop and sustain their practices.
Landlords Newcastle City Council acts as licensor to all occupants and is responsible for building management. Newcastle City Council aims to maintain a mixed balance of studio holders at various stages of their practice and incorporate a mixture of art forms, media and creative practices.
The Studio selection policy and application process are currently under review by Newcastle City Council. If you are interested in applying to the waiting list, please contact Chris Healy at Newcastle City Council at chris.healy@newcastle.gov.uk or 0191 277 7032.
