Marking its tenth birthday, BALTIC launched a new specially commissioned range of limited artist prints, BALTIC Editions. The donated works, all by artists who have exhibited previously at BALTIC, will go on sale in 2012 with proceeds helping support BALTIC’s exhibition and education programme.
Housed in a landmark industrial building on the south bank of the River Tyne in Gateshead, BALTIC is a major international centre for contemporary art.

The notion of BALTIC began in 1991 when Northern Arts (now Arts Council England North East) announced its ambition to achieve ‘major new capital facilities for the Contemporary Visual Arts in Central Tyneside’.
BALTIC is committed to operating sustainably and responsibily in a number of ways.
BALTIC has been awarded and recognised for a number of achievements including winning the public-voted National Lottery Award 2012 for Best Arts Project.
View a new microsite showcasing previously unpublished works from Jim Shaw's series My Mirage. My Mirage comprises 170 works that are uniform in scale but very different in style. Each of its images has been appropriated from one already in circulation in America during the 1960s and as such exists as a form of archive of the tastes and aesthetics of that decade.
