COOLBRANDS
CoolBrands is an eclectic collection of some of the coolest brands in Britain. They are chosen by an independent Expert Council and thousands of members of the public.

VISITOR ATTRACTION QUALITY ASSURANCE SCHEME (VAQAS)
The Visitor Attraction Quality Assurance Scheme (VAQAS) is managed by VisitEngland and, through its network of regional assessors, boasts an incredible reputation for instigating, modifying and shaping change to the customer experience at visitor attractions across England.

BALTIC has been officially recognised as a merited Quality Assured Visitor Attraction since 2006. 

NORTH EAST ENGLAND TOURISM AWARDS 2011 
The region’s best tourism businesses were honoured at the North East England Tourism Awards 2011, which took place at the Stadium of Light in Sunderland (6th October) officially recognising the cream of the industries talent.44 tourism businesses including accommodation providers and visitor attractions from right across the region from Haydon Bridge to Seaham, from Berwick to Guisborough were recognised at the awards.

BALTIC was awarded Bronze for Best large Visitor Attraction. 

JOURNAL CULTURE AWARDS
The Journal newspaper’s Culture Awards are a highlight of the regional cultural calendar. The award ceremony is attended by representatives from the world of theatre, cinema, museums and galleries as well as many locally based artists and winners.

- 2010 Awards presented in March 2011
BALTIC was awarded both Best Event Tyneside and Best Overall Event in the Journal Culture Awards 2010 for the exhibition of work by the American artist Jenny Holzer who wowed visitors with her spectacular text-based, LED installations. 

- 2011 Awards presented in April 2012 
BALTIC was awarded both Best Event Tyneside and Best Overall Event in the Journal Culture Awards 2011 for the exhibition, BALTIC presents Turner Prize 2011. BALTIC was also awarded the Arts Council Award for BALTIC presents Turner Prize 2011.

PARK MARK®
The Safer Parking Award is a police initiative presented to owners and managers of parking facilities who adopt physical standards, which are intended to reduce crime and the fear of crime from car parks. Park  Mark® is awarded to parking facilities that have met the requirements of a risk assessment conducted by the police and mean the parking operator has put in place measures that help to deter criminal activity and anti-social behaviour.

BALTIC’s South Shore Road car park was awarded The Park Mark® accreditation following a detailed inspection as part of the Safer Parking Scheme. The award was presented to BALTIC Director Godfrey Worsdale by Northumbria Police Chief Constable Sue Sim on Friday 18 November 2011.
