Taking inspiration from The Rinse Cycle by Jim Shaw, Year 9 students from Gateshead Secondary Schools worked with artists, writers and comic book experts at BALTIC and back at school to create their own comics.
Time Telescope was an interactive learning tool on Level 5 at BALTIC, designed and created by young people, enabling visitors to turn back the clock and imagine life through the years and to reflect on how cultural regeneration impacted upon the landscape, people and communities.
Groups are welcome to visit BALTIC independently, but you can take advantage of the opportunities available through BALTIC Learning, such as talks, guided tours and artist led studio sessions.
LOUD! is an exhibition of artwork from prisons, secure hospitals, secure children’s homes, and probation services in the North East of England. The exhibition features an extensive range of artwork including painting, drawing, sculpture, and creative writing from entries to the 2015 Koestler Awards – a charitable scheme which has been rewarding artistic achievement in the criminal justice and secure services for over 50 years. The exhibition is shown across BALTIC and The Gallery at Gateshead Central Library.
