Barnaby Furnas

Recent Paintings & Watercolours

16 April 2005 - 18 April 2005

New York-based artist Barnaby Furnas presented an exhibition of bright, intensely coloured figurative paintings.

Furnas’ large-scale oil paintings and smaller watercolours depicted grand themes of love, death and conflict with images of violence and war presented alongside those of mass gatherings and celebration. The artist often looks to the past for subject matter, although the influence of recent media such as cinematic special effects and video game animation is unmistakable in these new works.
