BALTIC presents a unique and innovative experience with Couples - A series of talking couples in conversation. The exhibition pairs complementary individuals whose unique profession or life experience are anticipated to generate an informed commentary on a variety of local and national topics.
Running from 1 October - 2 November, this exhibition pairs complementary individuals whose unique profession or life experience are anticipated to generate an informed commentary on a variety of local and national topics. As the experience of this exhibition is embedded in the relationship that the public make with the selected couples, each of the couples will be available to BALTIC’s diverse audiences for one day in adjoining rooms on Level 2.

On October 1 there will be a reunion of workers from the Baltic Flour Mill coupled with a cross section of workers from BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art
On October 2 television newsreader Sharon Barbour will be coupled with Alnwick town crier John Stevens.
On October 3 beatboxer Mr. Brakes, turntablist DJ A.D.S. and rap artist Kenny Masters will be performing on behalf of the Newcastle Hip Hop Workshops.
On October 4 motorcycle enthusiast Paul Hildrew will be coupled with award winning master nail technician Victoria Taylor-Dodds.
On October 5 female world champion nettle eater Jo Carter will be coupled with cake decorator and confectioner Moira Goldsmith.

On October 12 Sunderland Association Football Club official mascots Samson and Delilah will be coupled with Newcastle United Football Club official mascots Monty and Maggie Magpie.
On October 13 the founding Director of BALTIC Sune Nordgren will be coupled with the architect for BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art Dominic Williams.
On October 14 hereditary geneticist Dr. Volker Straub will be coupled with a selection of his patients.

On November 1 The Lindy Jazz Experience: Dance Connections will be coupled with Bad Taste Cru - Full-Time B-boys.
On November 2 there will be a casual meet and greet with participants from the exhibition.
