The Complete Graphics and Multiples
The art of Öyvind Fahlström represents one of the least explored areas of the art of the 1960s and 1970s.
The exhibition at BALTIC is Fahlström’s first solo show in the UK and is the largest presentation of his work to date.
Highly influential to a present generation of artists, Öyvind Fahlström’s art is a prolific and passionate commentary on the political and cultural events of the time, from global capitalism to the Vietnam War.
Fahlström’s work is characterized by an aesthetic of game play and interactivity and spans a variety of media. This show includes paintings, sculptures, installations, films and sound pieces, graphics, multiples as well as a large interactive section.
