BALTIC 39 opening April 2012
BALTIC 39, a new cultural hub for contemporary art located on High Bridge in the heart of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, will open to the public on Friday 6 April 2012. This exciting venture is a collaboration between Newcastle City Council, Arts Council England, BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art and Northumbria University.

BALTIC is proud to present a new work by acclaimed contemporary Chinese artist Wang Qingsong, created in Newcastle by the artist in association with Northern Stage as part of EAST’08. During a recent residency at BALTIC, artist Candice Breitz invited a diverse community of dedicated John Lennon fans to pay tribute to their hero in a recording studio in Newcastle upon Tyne.
