This exhibition invites visitors to interact with the works directly by opening the ‘wind house’ to bring the exterior elements inside and physically infiltrating an inverted countryside scene in the work Trans-parent.

A half-day symposium exploring the extraordinary world view andunique voice of LA artist Jim Shaw. Jim Shaw’s Imaginarium will examine his work within a context of a pivotal group of influential West Coast artists.
Contributions and presentations by John C. Welchman, Professor of Modern and Contemporary Art History/Criticism at the University of California, San Diego, Darcey Steinke, American writer and novelist, Laurence Sillars, BALTIC Chief Curator and David Campbell, Professor of Fine Art at Northumbria University.
