BALTIC 39 I FIGURE TWO
BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art is delighted to announce BALTIC 39 I FIGURE TWO, an open submission exhibition to be held at BALTIC 39. The exhibition is an opportunity for artists working across all media to test works and ideas, or to develop works in progress within a public context.
The exhibition will last for 5 weeks and will be made up of 10 projects by 10 artists, each lasting 5 days. Each artist will be assigned one of the two galleries at BALTIC 39. There will be one day to install and one day to deinstall each exhibition. Proposals that demonstrate an immediate benefit to the development of recent work or works in progress will be prioritised. Only work made during the past twelve months (July 2013 – present), currently in progress, or made for (or during) this exhibition will be considered. The exhibiting artists will be selected by Laurence Sillars, BALTIC Chief Curator and Katharine Welsh, Assistant Curator. Proposals are invited now.
Interested applicants should read the full terms below.
A written proposal of no longer than 500 words, a budget breakdown and visual material showing examples of recent work should be submitted by email (7MB maximum file size) to firstname.lastname@example.org or on a CD or memory stick to BALTIC 39 FIGURE TWO, BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art, Gateshead Quays, South Shore Road, Gateshead, NE8 3BA
