Teacher Network Events

BALTIC hosts a series of Teacher Network Events which are a great way to keep up to date with what's going on in your region. Find out about events and projects, share ideas and practice and catch-up with likeminded colleagues in a relaxed setting.

Early Years, Primary Teacher Networks and NEATEN, NE Art Teacher/Educator Networks are scheduled once a term.

EYFS Teachers Network; Space & Shape
Wednesday 25 February 4:00-6:00/ BALTIC Level 2/FREE
Join BALTIC and Early Years Consultant, Julie Mancini at this term’s EYFS network. Julie will discuss baseline assessment and communication-friendly spaces before BALTIC artist Bethan Maddocks shares creative ideas and activities to encourage your children to engage with shape, pattern and arrangement as well as suggesting key contemporary artists to look to for inspiration.
Refreshments served as always.

Primary Teachers Network
Thursday 5 March 4:30-6:00/ BALTIC Level 2/ FREE
Join colleagues at BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art and work for a session with Bare Toed Dance Company.
Children often engage with their creativity through moving.....it can be their first language for exploring life, and through this, art. In this session we will look at structures that offer ways to enable your children to have embodied, creative responses to contemporary art - there will be lots of  ideas to take back and develop in your setting. We'll be mostly practical so please come prepared to move.
Refreshments served as always.

SEND Teachers Network
Thursday 12 March 4:30-6:00/ BALTIC Level 2/ FREE
Work with Bare Toed Dance Company at BALTIC and join likeminded colleagues in this active and engaging session. All children engage with their environment through movement, sensation and body intelligence...........their ‘body creativity’ is often their first language for exploring and connecting with life. Here, Bare Toed will lead a practical session which will explore ideas with lots of room for unique, creative and sensory movement and dance.
Please come prepared to move and  to gather lots of ideas to take back to your setting.
Refreshments served as always.

Please see www.baretoed.co.uk for images, more CPD opportunities and past projects.
