Work with Bare Toed Dance Company at BALTIC and join likeminded colleagues in this active and engaging session. All children engage with their environment through movement, sensation and body intelligence...........their ‘body creativity’ is often their first language for exploring and connecting with life. Here, Bare Toed will lead a practical session which will explore ideas with lots of room for unique, creative and sensory movement and dance.
Please come prepared to move and to gather lots of ideas to take back to your setting.
Refreshments served as always.
Please see www.baretoed.co.uk for images, more CPD opportunities and past projects.

ARE YOU ASKING THE RIGHT QUESTIONS?
How to become a confident communicator in Contemporary Art
Free/ Pre- booking essential
Working with colleagues from BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art and Arts and Creativity Education Consultant Susan Coles, Are You Asking The Right Questions? explores questioning and enquiry within contemporary art.
Contemporary art address a whole world of subjects and can provide personal and social responses to political, ethical and global themes. Using these colourful and rich stimuli, these sessions have enquiry at the heart of them and will explore many different ways our wonders and thoughts can lead to deep, thoughtful questioning.
Each session includes practical activities within BALTIC’s learning spaces, galleries and gives all participants the opportunity to discuss, debate and learn from peers. Exploring how questioning and enquiry can improve and develop communication, there will be lots of ideas to take back and develop in your setting, encouraging teacher/pupil collaboration, a greater understanding of art conversations and visual literacy. All sessions will support social, moral, spiritual and cultural development and make contemporary art accessible to all, supporting you in creating an inclusive curriculum model for children of all abilities.
Sessions are for Primary, Secondary and SEND Teachers and will take place at BALTIC on the following dates:
Tuesday 5 May, Primary Teacher CPD, 10.00am – 12.00pm
Tuesday 9 June, Secondary Teacher CPD, 4.00pm – 6.00pm
Tuesday 16 June, Primary and Secondary Teacher CPD, 4.00pm – 6.00pm
