Franklin Summer, 2012 is a limited edition print by artist Yoko Ono, produced as part of the BALTIC Editions series for Baltic's tenth anniversary.
Franklin Summer takes its title from an on-going drawing project which began in 1994. Works from this little-known series were exhibited at BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art in the solo exhibition Yoko Ono: Between the Sky and My Head. The works in the series explore the spontaneous pleasure of drawing. With a quiet and poetic sensibility, the simple, direct quality of the works allows the viewer to engage with Ono’s process.
Ono wrote of these works: "The dots accumulated into a mass, and figures emerged from them... It was very much like what one goes through in meditation..."
Edition of 100 signed and numbered by the artist.
Size: 171 x 114mm.
