Jason Rhoades, Four Roads is the first major gallery exhibition of the work of this exceptional artist who died in 2006 at the age of 41. Rhoades lived and worked in Los Angeles. The exhibition occupies BALTIC’s two largest floors, with four installations to be navigated by four interpretive paths or roads.

7 March 2015 - 12 July 2015

At a time when we have become desensitised to an image-saturated world, Tony Swain (born Northern Ireland, 1967) uses familiar sections of newspaper that are pieced together as a support for paintings of fragmented landscapes and abstract patterns.

3 April 2015 - 17 May 2015

The Curves of the Needle considers a recurring interest in the vinyl record by artists. This group exhibition explores album artwork, the cultural significance of the record collection and brings together contemporary artists who have experimented with the format.
