Sarah Latheron: Force
BALTIC Artist Teacher Award Exhibition 2014
Quay, Level 2 / BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art, Gateshead
The marks, cracks, indents and imperfections left in BALTIC’s walls and floors act as the beginning points of Latheron’s sculptures and drawings. Force presents two site-specific wall pieces created by the artist over two weeks shown alongside two sculptures exploring ideas of resistance and balance.
The Artist Teacher Award is given annually to a graduate of the MA Fine Art and Education, delivered by Northumbria University in partnership with BALTIC. This year’s winner, Sarah Latheron, was selected by BALTIC Director, Godfrey Worsdale. Sarah is an artist and teacher at Gateshead College. The Artist Teacher Award is granted as part of BxNU, a unique partnership between Northumbria University and BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art.
