BALTIC presents a unique and innovative experience with Couples - A series of talking couples in conversation. The exhibition pairs complementary individuals whose unique profession or life experience are anticipated to generate an informed commentary on a variety of local and national topics.

Running from 1 October - 2 November, this exhibition pairs complementary individuals whose unique profession or life experience are anticipated to generate an informed commentary on a variety of local and national topics. As the experience of this exhibition is embedded in the relationship that the public make with the selected couples, each of the couples will be available to BALTIC’s diverse audiences for one day in adjoining rooms on Level 2.

The full schedule of BALTIC Couples is as follows:
On October 1 there will be a reunion of workers from the Baltic Flour Mill coupled with a cross section of workers from BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art
On October 2 television newsreader Sharon Barbour will be coupled with Alnwick town crier John Stevens.
On October 3 beatboxer Mr. Brakes, turntablist DJ A.D.S. and rap artist Kenny Masters will be performing on behalf of the Newcastle Hip Hop Workshops.
On October 4 motorcycle enthusiast Paul Hildrew will be coupled with award winning master nail technician Victoria Taylor-Dodds.
On October 5 female world champion nettle eater Jo Carter will be coupled with cake decorator and confectioner Moira Goldsmith.
On October 6 comedy magician Don Moses will be coupled with sleight of hand magician Matthew J. Dowden.
On October 7 Newcastle and Sunderland Football Culture will be coupled and organized by True Faith Newcastle United Fanzine and A Love Supreme The Independent Sunderland Football Club Fanzine. 
October 8 Identical 67 year old twins Pauline Kell and Julienne Roberts
On October 9 enamel advertising sign historian Andrew Morley will be coupled with the graphic design company Blue River.
On October 10 board game enthusiast historian Harry Pearson will be coupled with Second Life enthusiasts.
On October 11 ‘World’s Biggest Liar’ John Graham will be coupled with lie detector Jeremy Barrett.
On October 12 Sunderland Association Football Club official mascots Samson and Delilah will be coupled with Newcastle United Football Club official mascots Monty and Maggie Magpie.
On October 13 the founding Director of BALTIC Sune Nordgren will be coupled with the architect for BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art Dominic Williams.
On October 14 hereditary geneticist Dr. Volker Straub will be coupled with a selection of his patients.
On October 15 Physical theatre performer (mime) Harriet Plewis will
be coupled with foley (sound effects) artist Julie Ankerson (of Doctor Who)
On October 16 Gateshead Public Art curator Anna Pepperall will be coupled with Newcastle Public Art curator Matthew Lennon.
On October 17 Great Britain’s Best Elvis Mark Goddard will be coupled with the Beatlemaniacs.
On October 18 embalmer Isobel Remmer will be coupled with specialist taxidermist Carl Church.
October 19 war re-enactor Jonathan Catton will be coupled with soldier Keith Brigstock.
On October 20 faker of his own death Alan Abel will be coupled with cheater of death Gordon Shields.
On October 21 members of North Country Quilting will be coupled with traditional Proggy and Hookey matt makers.
On October 22 members of the North East transgender community will be on hand to talk about their personal experiences and transformation.
On October 23 professional ventriloquist Karl Jeffery will be coupled with psychic medium Richard Cuthbert.
On October 24 conventional arable farmer John Spence will be coupled with organic farmer and farming researcher Carlo Leifert.
On October 25 2008 Sage call centre worker Gary Young will be coupled with coal miner Ray Ditchburn.
On October 26 Olympic Boxing Medalist from Sunderland Tony Jeffries will be coupled with 1960 Olympic Boxing Medalist Jim Lloyd.
On October 27 Senior Cultural Advisor to the 2012 Olympic Games Francesca Hegyi will be coupled with Rebecca Jenkins author of ‘1908 The First London Olympics’.
On October 28 animal trainer Jim Clubb of Amazing Animals will be coupled with horse whisperer Adam Shereston.  Also present on the day will be ponies from Stepney Bank Stables.
On October 29 representatives from the Centre for Alternative Technology will be coupled with representatives from Npower Renewables.
On October 30 Couples will be hosting the Great Pumpkin Carving Competition.
On October 31 Couples will be hosting the Great Pumpkin Carving Competition.
On November 1 The Lindy Jazz Experience: Dance Connections will be coupled with Bad Taste Cru - Full-Time B-boys.
On November 2 there will be a casual meet and greet with participants from the exhibition.
