CBBC is packing its bags and taking the channel on holiday for three days of action-packed events live from NewcastleGateshead.

Many events take place here at BALTIC and are free but need tickets booking in advance. See below for details on how to get tickets for each different event.

Tickets are available from BALTIC, Gateshead at the information desk, Ground Floor only.
Please note tickets are not available online.

THURSDAY 29 MAY

Storytelling Zone

Comedy Workshop / 1 hr  / 12:30 and 5:30.  Suitable for 8-12 years olds

Find out how to make your friends laugh from CBBC comedy duo Johnny and Inel.  The masters of comedy will show you how to become the class clown by telling tall tales that will have everyone rolling on the floor.  

Dumping Ground Screening and Meet the Cast  / 1 hr / 1:30 and 3:30

Come and join us for a screening of the episode “Sticks and Stones” from the second series of the Dumping Ground.  Bailey's dreams are thrown into jeopardy when his football coach shows his true colours, whilst Floss' background is revealed when she steals Carmen's nail product. Afterwards find out how the cast and producers tell the touching, funny and moving stories of the residents of the children’s home and put your own questions to members of the cast and producers.  Tickets available from BBC Shows and Tours.

Meet the Author – Henry Winkler / 45 mins / 4:30

Henry Winkler doesn’t just star as Mr Rock in the CBBC show Hank Zipzer, but he also writes the books.  Come along and find out how the stories are drawn on his own experiences of growing up with dyslexia.  Henry will be joining us from his home in LA via video link so don’t miss this opportunity to quiz him.

Strangehill High Puppet Storytelling Workshop / 90 mins / 12:30, 2:30, 4:30

Puppeteers from CBBC show Strangehill High will share their secrets of how to use something as simple as a sock to tell a great yarn (yarn..sock…geddit?).  Over an hour and half you will get hands on with puppets from the show and make your own puppet and bring it to life.

Fancy yourself as an author? Could you write a scene for the Dumping Ground?  This hour long drama workshop will give you the opportunity to unleash your creativity and write a story which will be acted by members of the cast. 

Wolfblood  Screening and Meet the Cast  / 1 hr / 12:30 and 2:30

Come and join us for a screening of the finale of the second series of Wolfblood.  Doctor Whitewood gets Maddy's dad's DNA and she finds out about the Wolfblood secret. They are left with no choice other than to leave Stoneybridge.  Afterwards find out how the cast and producers go about telling the stories of the pack and put your own questions to members of the cast and producers.
